Privacy Policy for Rippin

The short version

Rippin doesn't run any servers, and there's no idessa account to create. Here is exactly what the app stores, where it goes, and the one narrow case where anything reaches us.

What Rippin stores, and where

Your notes, tasks, and tags are stored on your device. If iCloud sync is on, they're also stored in your own private iCloud storage (CloudKit), which is what moves them between your devices. This data lives in your Apple account, under Apple's infrastructure — idessa has no server-side access to it.

Your display name — the name you sign conversations with — is stored in your iCloud key-value storage so it stays consistent across your devices.

In earlier versions of Rippin, reminders were saved directly to Apple's Reminders app on your device using EventKit — a local, on-device connection. If you're still on that version, that's all that happens with your data.

What's shared when you share

If you address a note or task to another person, that content — plus your display name — is delivered to their device through a private CloudKit share. The people in that conversation can see what you send them; that's the point. It doesn't pass through any server we operate.

What we actually receive

One thing, and only if you choose to send it: reports. If you report a conversation, your mail app opens a pre-filled email to support@idessa.io that includes the conversation's name and whatever you add. A person reads it and acts on it. That is the only path by which any of your content reaches us.

Importing from an older version

If you used an earlier version of Rippin that saved reminders to Apple's Reminders app, opening a newer version once imports that history into Rippin's own storage. This only runs if you'd already granted Reminders access, happens a single time, and doesn't touch any Reminders lists you use for other things.

Analytics and tracking

There are none. No analytics SDK, no crash reporting, no third-party frameworks, no telemetry, no advertising identifiers.

In-app purchases

Rippin offers optional tips to support development. These are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive any personal or payment information.
